The street Wilhelmstrasse is nearly one kilometre long. It used to be a through street. Afterwards it developped into a connection between old and new town. It became a shopping and strolling street. It is called the "Heart of the town".
The many narrow streets with their half-timbered houses are very idyllic and impressive.

Often you can see parts of the medieval wall of the town. It is a circular wall with a length of three kilometres and it has partly new buildings.

The marketplace was restored and renovated in the last years.
